Overview of the Graphical Environment

Graphical Environment configuration files

The major components of the Graphical Environment have their own configuration files. These files can be modified to implement the customizations to the Graphical Environment that you desire.

There are at least two versions of each of these configuration files on the system: one that resides in the user's $HOME directory and affects only that user, and one that provides default specifications for the entire system. ``Files used to customize the Graphical Environment'' summarizes the configuration files that are used by the Graphical Environment.
