Designing SCOadmin object service agents

Example class

This topic goes through the steps of defining and using a simple object class. The example objects are UUCP systems stored as lines in the /usr/lib/uucp/Systems file and include a complete object class definition that allows a SCOadmin manager to manipulate the Systems file on any host. Here is an example system entry:

sosco Any ACU 2400-38400 -\\r\\d=ogin:-\\K\\d-ogin: uusls
The fields of this file are as follows:

sosco
the system name

Any
allowed access times

ACU
the type of device needed to contact the system 2400-38400 The range of serial line speeds suitable to contact the system

-\\r\\d=ogin:-\\K\\d-ogin: uusls
The login script for the system
``UUCP configuration execution procedures'' documents the Tcl execution procedures used to manipulate these files. The example OSA translates object calls from the manager into calls to this library.
