The /etc/resolv.conf file
If /etc/resolv.conf exists, DNS uses it to perform
resolution rather than named. Reasons for using
configuring a remote server, which does not run named.
naming one or more specific name servers to query in a particular order.
naming one or more specific zones to query in a particular order.
specifying address sorting or other options.
