Distributing home directories
Distributed user accounts must have corresponding distributed
home directories. You can make distributed home directories
available with one of the following procedures:
-
configure automount to automatically mount a
distributed user's home directory via NFS wherever he or she
logs in. For more information, see
``Distributing home directories with automount''.
-
NFS-mount user home directories from a home directory server
by ensuring that /etc/default/filesys is the same on all
client hosts in your NIS domain.
-
manually create user home directories on each machine in your
NIS domain.
When home directory automounting has been configured, you can
manage distributed directories with the
useradd(ADM)
command.
NOTE:
You cannot use the SCOadmin Account Manager
to distribute a user's home directory.
