Using NFS on a server

Sharing NFS resources with the share command

You should use share at the command line prompt when you want to share a resource for a brief period of time, or on an irregular basis. To share NFS resources in this way, use the following command:

share [-F nfs] [-o specific-options] [-d description] pathname

See the share(NADM) manual page for details, and ``Examples: sharing resources'' for an illustration of the share command in use.

If you enter the -d option, the description is stored in your sharetab file. However, clients will not see the description displayed when they use the dfshares command to list the resources shared on your system.

Examples: sharing resources
