Configuring the NFS automounter

Unexpected automount termination

When automount is terminated with kill -9, one of the following may happen:

NFS will attempt to contact the server again, so you must restart automount. To do so, reboot the machine. Issuing the command nfs stop followed by nfs start is not sufficient.
