check group file
/etc/grpck [ file ]
verifies all entries in the group file. This verification
includes a check of the number of fields, group name,
group ID, and whether all login names appear in the
password file. The default group file is /etc/group.
Lines in /etc/group that begin with ``+'' or
``-'' are entries used by the Network Information
Service (NIS). These entries are not required to
a GID or users membership list, however,
grpck checks them if present.
Group entries in /etc/group
with no login names are flagged.
grpck is not part of any currently supported standard; it
is an extension of AT&T System V
provided by The Santa Cruz Operation, Inc.
