ramdisk(HW)
ramdisk -- memory block device (obsolete)
Description
In previous releases, the
ramdisk
device driver and the
/dev/ram00
device provided a block interface to memory. This interface was typically used to create a memory-based file system. The
ramdisk
device driver and the
/dev/ram00
device are no longer supported. Memory-based file systems are supported through the
memfs
file system type. Use the
mount_memfs
(ADM)
command to make and mount a
memfs
file system.
