remove a file from software database
removef pkginst path1 [ path2 ... ]
removef -f pkginst
removef checks whether a pathname can be removed
safely from a particular package.
Output from removef is the list of input pathnames
that may be removed safely
(no other packages have a dependency on them).
After all files have been processed, removef
should be invoked with the -f option to indicate that the removal
phase is complete.
The following shows the use of removef in an optional
echo "The following files are no longer part of this package
and are being removed."
removef $PKGINST /dev/xt[0-9][0-9][0-9] |
while read pathname
rm -f $pathname
removef -f $PKGINST || exit 2
