One of the key distinguishing capabilities of SCO Visual Tcl is its ability to display the same program (for example, the kill program shown here), in both character and graphical display environments.
If the display is a character display, the CHARM server responds to the request and displays the program in character mode.
CHARM stands for Character Motif, and is a version of Motif in which graphical code has been replaced by curses code to accomplish a similar look-and-feel in the character environment.
