UUCP troubleshooting utilities

There are several commands you can use to check for basic communications information.

UUCP troubleshooting tools

Command Description
uucheck Checks for the presence of files and directories required by uucp. This command also checks the Permissions file for obvious errors.
uulog Displays the contents of the log directories for specific hosts.
uuname Lists the machines that you are set up to contact.
uustat Displays the status of the currently queued uucp requests or connections to other systems.
uutry Invokes uucico with debugging, saves the information to the file /tmp/machine, and directs the last 10 lines of the output to the terminal. The -x option changes the debugging level (default is level 5).
