Configuring the Network Information Service (NIS)

NIS logfiles

The Account Manager, yppasswdd(NADM), yppasswd(NC), ypxfrd(NADM), and ypxfr(NADM) all use the file /usr/adm/nislog as a logfile. If the logfile /usr/adm/nislog exists when ypxfr is executed, results are appended to this logfile. If the same logfile exists when the daemon ypserv starts up, log information will be written to this file when ypserv error conditions arise. The user is responsible for limiting the logfile. To turn off logging, remove the logfile.
