Setting up NFS

NFS and system state 3

If NFS is installed, your system will come up in system state 3, and NFS will be started automatically. If your system is not in system state 3, you can take it to system state 3 by entering:

init 3

or you can set up your system to enter system state 3 immediately on rebooting (see ``About system states'' for more information.)

If your system does not automatically enter system state 3 upon startup or reboot, edit the /etc/inittab file and change the line

   is:2:initdefault:
to the following:
   is:3:initdefault:
See inittab(F) for more information on the /etc/inittab file.
