Configuring the Network File System (NFS)

Setting anonymous access permissions

To set anonymous access permissions on exported filesystems:

  1. From the Export menu, select NFS, then select Add Export Configuration.

  2. Click on Anonymous Users.

  3. Select Allowed or Not Allowed in the Control Anonymous Access to Exported Filesystem menu.

NOTE: root users (UID 0) are always considered unknown by the NFS server, unless they are defined using the root option of exportfs(NADM). (The default value for this option is -2.)

By default, NFS accepts insecure requests as anonymous. For extra security, you can disable this feature by setting the exportfs(NADM) anon option to -1.
