Networking components
Networking functionality is provided in several components
included with the SCO OpenServer distribution. The distribution
products and component packages may be viewed from the Software Manager;
for more information, see
``Examining software packages''.
The following components are included with the SCO OpenServer
Connectivity package:

SCO Network Drivers
-- the individual networking adapter drivers and
the Network Configuration Manager configuration framework

Network Installation Boot Modules.

SCO TCP/IP Runtime System,
including:

TCP/IP Runtime utilities and drivers, which provide the
basis for TCP/IP networking.

SNMP Agent Runtime Set, which enables your system
to run the Simple Network Management Protocol to monitor
and manipulate resources across the network.

Remote Line Printing Runtime Set.

PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol) Runtime utilities and drivers,
which enable your system to run TCP/IP over serial lines.

TCP/IP administration tools.

SNMP administration tools.

TCP/IP Documentation, including this guide.

SCO NFS® Runtime System,
including:

Base Network File System (NFS), including
automount(NADM).

Network Information Service (NIS), a distributed
database that allows administrators to
centralize common system administrative files. For more

Remote Execution (REX).

Network Lock Manager (NLM).

NFS Documentation, including all NFS manual pages.
Included with the SCO OpenServer UNIX Utilities package
(under the SCO OpenServer UNIX product) are:

UNIX System Mail Utilities:

SCO Mail User Agents.

The MMDF (Multichannel Memorandum Distribution Facility)
SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) channel.

The sendmail runtime system.
Included with the SCO OpenServer Optional UNIX Utilities
(under the SCO UNIX Operating System product) are:
