Using Mail

Delaying mail delivery

You can specify a time (in minutes) that Mail waits before actually delivering mail that you send. This allows you to retrieve your own messages after you have sent them.

To delay delivery, select Deliver from the Preferences menu, click in the ``Delay Delivery'' field, and enter the number of minutes you want to delay the delivery of your outgoing mail.

Recovering delayed delivery messages

If you have chosen delayed delivery, you have the specified number of minutes to recover your mail before it is actually sent.

To recover a delayed message, select Open Outbox from the Folder menu, and select the message or messages that you want to recover from the Outbox folder.

Select one of:

Retrieve
to edit the message or messages.

Delete
to remove the message or messages.

Deliver Now
to deliver the message or messages immediately.

NOTE: No messages are delivered while the Outbox folder is open unless you specify Deliver Now.
