Finding specific text in a draft message
To search for specific words or
character sequences in the message you are creating,
select Find
from the Message window Text menu,
or click on the
Find button,
and make your selections:
-
Click in the ``Search For:'' field and enter the text
for which you want to search.
-
Decide whether to make the search case-sensitive
(look specifically for the lower- and uppercase characters
that you entered in the ``Search For:'' field). If the search
is not case-sensitive, case is ignored.
Select Case Sensitive Search to use case sensitivity.
-
Decide whether you want to search for whole words only,
instead of parts of words. For example, if you enter
``one'' in the ``Search For'' field, the search only finds
occurrences of the word ``one.'' It does not indicate
words like ``done,'' ``alone,'' or ``telephone.''
Select Whole Word Search to search for whole words only.
-
Decide how you want the message searched.
By default,
a search starts with your current position in the message,
searches to the end of the message, then goes to the top of the message,
and searches down to the starting point. This is called ``wrapping.''
To specify that you want the search to stop at the end of the message,
select Do Not Wrap Search.
Finding the next occurrence
To search for the next occurrence of the string for which you just
searched, select Find Next
from the Message window Text menu
or click on the
Find Next button.
