Installing and managing software over the network

Managing software on remote hosts

Before you can remove or examine software that resides on a remote host, you must establish root .rhosts equivalence between the local machine and the remote target. See the hosts.equiv(SFF) manual page for more information.

In the Software Manager, select Open Host from the Host menu, then enter the remote host name or select the remote host from a list.

Once you log in to the remote host, you can install software onto the host, remove software from the host, or verify or examine software on the host.
