SCSI peripherals not recognized

The likely causes for a SCSI peripheral not being recognized are:

• The SCSI bus is terminated at some point between the host adapter and the controller for the peripheral that is apparently missing. The bus must be correctly terminated at both ends only; no terminating resistors must be present at any other place on the bus. Controllers usually use plug-in terminating resistors or DIP switch settings to allow termination. Check the intermediate controllers on the bus for premature termination. Incorrect termination can also lead to data corruption. (See UNRESOLVED XREF-0 for more information).

• The target ID set on the controller board is the same as that of another controller on the same bus.

• The target ID set on the controller board differs from that defined in the file /etc/conf/cf.d/mscsi.
