Configuring network connections

Checking for conflicts between hardware and drivers

One of the most common network adapter problems arises when adapter hardware configuration parameters do not match those set during driver configuration with the Network Configuration Manager. If such a conflict exists, the network adapter will not work.

To ensure that adapters and drivers are configured together correctly:

  1. Verify the hardware settings for parameters such as interrupt vector, I/O base address, and RAM base address.

To do so, you may need to:

  2. Verify the SCO OpenServer system settings for the network drivers. In the Network Configuration Manager, from the Hardware menu, select View.

  3. Correct any conflicts in configuration parameters.
