To arrange the Desktop icons in a grid pattern, select Clean up from the View menu.
To line up the icons in rows starting at the top left corner of the Desktop, select Reorganize from the View menu.
To move an icon onto the Desktop, drag the icon from its original window to the new location.
To put an icon back into its original window,
select the icon, then
select Put Back from the Desktop Edit menu.
