ttylock(ADM)


ttylock, ttyunlock -- lock or unlock a tty

Syntax

/etc/ttylock tty

/etc/ttyunlock tty

Description

ttylock applies an administrative lock to a terminal device, preventing users from logging in on that tty. Attempts to log in fail with the message:
   Terminal is disabled -- see Account Administrator
ttyunlock unlocks a tty.

The tty argument should omit the /dev path (for example tty01, not /dev/tty01).

Exit values

Upon completion, these utilities exit with one of the following values:

0
The action was successful.

>0
An error occurred.
